About Me

I am a Clinical Psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. I am an independent practitioner licenced to assess, diagnose, and treat various psychological disorders in adults. Specifically, I work with those who have emotional and behavioural difficulties, relationship challenges, and folks struggling with low mood and anxiety, including bipolar disorders, health and social anxiety, OCD, and panic disorder. I also work with clients who are struggling with emotion regulation and tolerating distress and may have a personality disorder or are wondering if they do. My practice is trauma-informed, and I provide assessment and treatment for PTSD, complex trauma, and developmental and intergenerational trauma. Working with racial minority clients and LGBTQ+ communities is a big part of my practice. I speak and provide therapy in English, Bengali, Hindi, and Trinidadian Creole.

I also work as a clinical psychologist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). A significant focus of my work at CAMH is to provide evidence-based treatment and conduct comprehensive psychodiagnostic assessments for folks who have experienced multiple traumatic incidents through work. Apart from clinical practice, I supervise students and clinicians, teach graduate courses at the University of Toronto and serve as a member of the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

I completed my Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from the Memorial University. I have many years of clinical experience in community mental health, hospital outpatient and inpatient settings, and university counselling centers. I completed a CPA accredited residency at CAMH and at the University of Toronto’s Health and Wellness Centre. After completing my residency, I continued to work at CAMH as a psychologist (supervised and autonomous practice) where I mainly worked with adults with PTSD. I completed my master’s degree in clinical psychology at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine in Trinidad and my undergrad from Calcutta University in India. Receiving my education in Canada and internationally, I was able to gain invaluable experience in understanding evidence-based psychological treatments from diverse sociocultural perspectives. I continue to work on being culturally competent in my practice.
